Just done some maths comparing how much my parents paid for their house in 1978 and what it’s worth now.
If my calculations are correct, by 2060 my house should be worth £14.m.

Really hoping I can hang on that long. 🤞

It doesn't matter whether it's called a youth experience or mobility scheme.

Point is, two thirds of Brits support it. It'll help struggling industries like hospitality get staff. Boost the economy.

And give young Brits back opportunities they lost in a referendum they probably couldn't vote in.
💥 Chair of the UK Trade & Business Commission
@andrewlewinmp.bsky.social welcomes the progress towards a UK-EU youth mobility scheme, as currently "we’ve got deals with Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Iceland, Uruguay, but don’t have one with our closest allies just across the channel in the EU.”

💥 The UK-EU agreement contains some technical but important wins.

"But they will not deliver the economic growth the government says it wants. You do not turbocharge an economy by unblocking some tomatoes and reconciling carbon credits." ‪@pimlicat.bsky.social‬
Starmer's Euro Vision - New UK-EU trade deal gets douze points for diplomacy, but less for growth
While this deal may ease tensions and smooth select trade flows, it’s no game-changer for the UK economy. Not yet.

NEW: UK economy grows by a healthy 0.7% in Q1. Hasn’t been much good news for Starmer and Reeves of late but this certainly is. That said, it’s before the NI hikes came in and construction remains flat. Nonetheless will be a small boon to both business and political confidence.

Donald Trump's flurry of pathetic, deranged posts this morning proves once again—that’s all he’s got.

Republicans in Congress might still be scared of his mean tweets, but the rest of the world is laughing at him.

AOC: I heard that someone was flying a plane with a banner that said this is Trump country… It sure don’t look like it today.

I don’t think this is Trump country. This is our country.

Rejoining the EU would enhance Britain’s sovereignty. We’d get our seat back at the table where key decisions are taken & have a say on the single market rules that so many UK companies have to follow anyway (as it’s the world’s largest market, where we sell most of our exports).

Even among people who said they would consider voting for Reform UK at the next election, 54% said closer EU ties would have a positive impact on trade.
