At @repdexteror.bsky.social's town hall in Gresham, Oregon and it is absolutely packed. I was thinking about how folks are suggesting that Dems show up and host town halls in red districts where the GOP reps are cowards and have cancelled them. Dems can provide a place for the people to be heard.

Zelenskyy stayed in Kyiv while Russia was bombing the city and sending in hit squads to kill him. J.D. Vance fled to an undisclosed location because some peaceful protesters yelled at him while he was on vacation. This is why I believe victory over these people is still possible.

How many federal workers would DOGE need to fire to make up for Musk not paying his fair share of taxes?

Answer: 677,000. That's 44% of the entire non-DoD federal workforce.

Again, this power grab is not about the budget. It’s about politics.

If you were wondering if there is a word to describe how the United States is currently being governed, why, yes, there is: kakistocracy!

A good interview with Congressman Jamie Raskin, in which he lays out Musk’s and the broligarchy’s plan to dismantle our government from the inside and rebuilt it in Curtis Yarvin’s vision of a technocratic monarchy. He also talks about what we are doing to stop them.

Government funding runs out on March 14. Republicans can’t pass a bill alone, so Democrats have real leverage here. We’re calling on Democrats to commit to withholding their votes and insist on an end to the Trump-Musk coup rampaging across the government.

Trump's treasury nominee Scott Bessent, who is worth ~$500 million, said extending Trump's tax cuts for the rich is "the most important economic issue of the day."

When asked if we should raise the federal minimum wage above the current paltry $7.25 an hour, he said, "No, sir."

Make no mistake: Trump’s first week was a catastrophe for many vulnerable people. But the biggest story was his startling initial moves from democracy to oligarchy.

My hope lies in Americans noticing this. robertreich.substack.com/p/trumps-fir...
