The Ohio legislature passed SB 293, the bill that takes away the 4-day acceptance window for absentee ballots. It heads to the governor's desk now, our last chance to protect Ohio voters against this harmful & unnecessary change.

The anti-choice activists don't like the fact that Ohio reasonably voted to preserve access to safe and legal abortion care, so they're playing the long game again and hoping this indoctrination pays off in several decades.

I always caution people to append the phrase "in mice" at the end of any miraculous medicine story since we can make mice do, basically, anything biologically.

This is different. While it is a study in mice, the mechanism has little to do with mice's uniquely malleable biology.
If you’re hearing news about a cancer break-through and wonder what’s hype and what’s not, here’s a good explainer of the actual findings in animal studies.

This is some elegant science that pulls together several lines of long-standing inquiry, and yes, it’s a BFD.

I don't think we'll ever get another sentence which sums up everything the New York Times embodies quite like "Some legal experts have called it a crime to summarily kill civilians".
hey @nytimes.com: there is no counterpoint here. There are no credible legal experts who would EVER say that the US military has any right or authority to blow civilian craft out of the Caribbean and kill their crews from afar without any provocation. There is no other side to this question.
