Do we think ICE doesn’t apply to us because we were born in Ohio or California? Trump made it clear - “Homegrowns are next.” But first they gotta build more camps for all of us.

The great thing about fighting back against this stuff is that if you end up losing anyway you get the same outcome you’d have gotten from complying but you don’t have to fucking hate yourself too.

Ugly and uglier.
NYT absolutely *loved* the imagery around Trump announcing the he is going to toss US citizens who cross him into foreign work/torture camps to die without any due process (no mention in the article about the death camps).

Nothing new on the POTUS playbook; second time as dangerous farce.

Trump/Musk is flooding the zone, here is how you keep up: Trump taking cash bribes from oligarchs in exchange for power, Oligarchs steal from US gutting safety & opportunity for working families, Trump/Oligarchs doing horrible things to innocent people to distract US from their crimes against US.

Please recognize this: what POTUS/SCOTUS get away with doing to immigrants & green-card & visa holders, they can get away with doing to the rest of us.

3/4. If we accept the idea that moving a person from one place to another undoes rights and disempowers the judiciary, we are endorsing the basic Nazism practice that enabled the killing of millions.

1/4. On the White House’s theory, if they abduct you, get you on a helicopter, get to international waters, shoot you in the head, and drop your corpse into the ocean, that is legal, because it is the conduct of foreign affairs.

Yup. They'll send a legitimately awful US citizen to CECOT, and anyone who criticizes it will be accused of supporting the awful person... and then they'll send someone slightly less awful. Eventually, they'll have established that they can send anyone.
The next step for Trump is to send a US citizen convicted of something like child murder and rape to CECOT in El Salvador. It'll set the precedent to send citizens there while neutralizing outrage over it because of the heinous nature of their crimes. Then it'll any felony and then protestors.

And so, as it must for all years, 1984 came. But instead instead of leaving, it crept into dark places and grew, awaited its time and grew some more, and forty years later it sprang out and shouted, “Here I am! Greatness!!” Some rallied around it. Some said, “It’s not so bad.” So the fight is on.

And today, Trump transforms more than half a million legal residents of the USA into illegals subject to deportation. With a wave of his royal hand.

“Bizarre,” yes; but true
It is bizarre to me that people not only support a policy of killing tens of thousands of people to drive them from their homes, but believe no one could oppose this policy in good faith, and are willing to compromise the core values of their institutions to prevent protests against it.

Yes, please, Canada
And time to end the Safe Third Country Agreement. Canada needs to welcome those fleeing this authoritarian regime, especially trans people who are in very real existential danger. The U.S. is no longer a free and democratic country.
At what point does Global Affairs Canada issue a travel warning to Canadians heading to the US?

Because I think we're thoroughly at the point at which this is necessary.

The path back to power for the Democratic Party is to be the party that gets shit done.
