Look, it's not an unresolved question but a plain fact that Signal is funded by OTF, and OTF is funded by the State Department. They say as much right there on the OTF website.

I don’t think it’s dubious to claim an app is exploitable. But when the app in question has a abundantly open code base, has been consistently and repeatedly audited by independent entities both private, gov, edu - and can be done so yourself - then it turns into “Just Asking Questions” as a weapon
Yeah the whole world just witnessed an Israeli/US plot to exploit the supply chain of multiple companies in order to turn thousands of pagers into low-yield bombs. A plot which the Israelis claimed responsibility for... And people still think it's dubious to claim that an app is exploitable?
