I really, really urge folks to watch the documentary "beyond the curve" which at its surface is about flat-earthers but goes into the social aspect of these cult beliefs and how they function as a sort of artificial replacement culture for white people, who have been alienated by white supremacy

Because nothing in the political system has ever made it their job. Their job is to be the easiest bribe sponge available and get elected again. Having a spine and standing up hasn't been in the job description for them and they are terrified to do so.
