🎙️ Talk about basketball for fun
Ya, it’s always tough when a team loses both their top-2 bigs

The Clippers looked like one of the deepest teams in the NBA heading into the season, which makes this stat especially wild.

Are we reaching *that* point?
Giannis Antetokounmpo: “We had the opportunity to go to Vegas twice in a row. Not going to Vegas and being able to gamble on 34 red one more time I think is going to be very tough for me. At the end of the day, I want to win. We’ve lost 7 in a row. I don’t remember the last time I lost 7 in a row.”

The Spurs wings should perform better once Harper and Castle are healthy, but the lack of creation is glaring

Wouldn't be surprised if they make moves to address that down the road

A lot of shot variance in small sample, but playing Wemby with a real ball handler is the key to unlock him on offense

Not saying the A word for now but this looks like Dylan would be out for more than a week

Was inspired by watching Grizz-Pacers and how jarring it was that Memphis was maybe the relatively healthier team.

At least until Fox returns, the offensive flow could look better at times when Kornet is on the court, jus because they are flowing to the next action immediately when the ball is in Kornet’s hands

This game is passing the torch of hardship injury exception
Final: Grizzlies 128, Pacers 103. The Pacers did not play well outside of a nice surge early in the third quarter and a few pockets here and there. But the score, and the performance, almost secondary to their healthy status at the moment. Half the team nearly down. Pacers 0-2.

Dylan Harper has ... made a difference in this first quarter

Looking forward to this: not only Dylan making his preseason debut, but also the Spurs getting one of their main ball handlers to run the offense
Word at Spurs shootaround is that rookie Dylan Harper (thumb surgery) will make his preseason debut tonight vs. Utah. He will be on limited minutes.

4-year $39 million is outrageous lol
Sign a short deal and get to unrestricted free agency ASAP
Here’s the latest I’m hearing on the Quentin Grimes ~situation~. Agent David Bauman told me the Sixers’ formal offer was for four years and $39 million, and he still believes Grimes should command $20-25 annually.

So, yeah, far apart. Some sort of one-year deal seems most likely, at the moment.

👇🏻
Quentin Grimes will not attend the 76ers’ media day on Friday or travel with the team to Abu Dhabi for two preseason games next week, his agent, David A. Bauman, confirmed to The Inquirer on Thursday.

Seems intriguing to me: this type of moves are usually done at the end of preseason, and the Spurs are now doing two deals before the training camp even begins
Looks like the Spurs have added Isaiah Miller to the training camp roster.

San Antonio has a full roster of 21 players again.

The NBA averaged 18.2 possessions per game with at least 3 offensive players crashing the glass during the playoffs -- those most in the last 12 postseasons.

Also, the team that grabbed more OREB went 6-1 in the Finals.

Tagging up is going to continue grow as a tactic.
