You have part of it right. However, it is a horror movie and more. It is not just one thing it is all you have described and it is also a horror movie. It is indeed more than a simple vampire movie.
The reason Sinners is so good is that it’s not a horror movie. It is a film about the Black experience, and the immigrant experience in America. It tells the story of marginalized peoples and uses vampires as allegory to tell that story. It is SO much more than a “vampire movie.”
