OK, I've just been asked what I want for xmas 🙄 Whilst I struggle to come up with owt, I thought I'd give some suggestions of recent affordable things I've bought or been gifted in the last year or so.

First up, my #1 go-to birding gloves which are the best touchscreen gloves I have #BirdingGear

Longevity record!
Last night, @washwader.bsky.social recaught this Black-tailed Godwit, first caught and ringed 29 years ago.
The metal ring was wearing thin (and was replaced) but the bird is still going strong.
