Great report of a Tufted Duck from @theroyalparks.bsky.social. This little duck, ringed at #Serpentine #Hydepark in Dec 2023 made it all the way to the Rusian arctic circle, ca 2000km NE of Moscow. This shows just how far ducks wintering in London can migrate. #Londonbirds #birdringing #duck #BTO

Happy Wednesday! I am on my second day of having a kid home sick, and my spouse is out of town and I have deadlines coming up, but at least I got my newsletter out so you can read about bird eyeballs! I hope you'll check it out. 🪶👀 buttondown.com/rheisman/arc...

Great to hear that a Gadwall duckling (from a brood of seven) colour-ringed at Wheldrake Ings in August 2012 was spotted at Hemingbrough Brick Pits at the weekend, producing valuable information on a 13/half year old female - presumably still breeding in the local area @yorkbirding.bsky.social
