Hi friends. I caught up with Laird's partner, Jessica M today and received permission to share this. As some of you may know, Laird is in need of a new kidney. The appropriate donor would have O blood type. If you or anyone you know may be a willing match & donor, please reach out to me.

In 2015, not long after it was released, @briankeene.bsky.social called my novel SLOWLY WE ROT "hands down the single best zombie novel I've ever read." Well, that novel is now at long last available in audio format from Fright Night Audio.

I haven’t watched the movie as of yet, but take Bill’s advice and check out Willy Vlautin’s novel for a wonderful read. Vlautin hits the heart every time out.
Excited to watch this later—based on one of my favorite books by my favorite writer, Willy Vlautin. That’s a hell of a good list. Very promising. Hope the movie manages to do the book some justice. In any case, I highly recommend checking out the book first.

Check out my new story. Also, give the other stories on this great site a read.
This week’s new short story has a Jim Thompson meets Jordan Harper feel. Gritty, sparse noir with the cold logic of violence from @mikemchone.bsky.social

Check it out - we think you'll love it:

As the SHE RIDES SHOTGUN movie rides into theaters tomorrow, I wrote a thing for @letterboxd.social about the many movies that inspired me when I wrote the source novel, including the book's core inspiration, the immortal SHOGUN ASSASSIN. Check it out:

Gentle PSA that you don't always have to liken someone dealing with a major health issue to "fighting a battle" because it gives way too much power to the health issue & also implies that the person "loses" (or is the opposite of a winner) if they pass from ALS or cancer or something. Screw that.
