I do love having a screen for backup cam purposes, but less touchscreen and more tactile controls would be a major experience improvement ✨
Next year, the EU will require cars to have buttons & dials -- not just touchscreens -- to get a top safety rating.

This is a great move. Drivers can fiddle with knobs & buttons without taking their eyes off the road, but they can't do that with touchscreens.

(Even better: Tesla will hate this)
Cars will need fewer screens and more buttons to earn five-star safety rating in Europe
Euro NCAP will release new testing guidelines in 2026.

This morning I read for IRIS radio reading service and then did an interview for their podcast. Volunteers read Iowa newspapers and offer other important information. This service reaches about 11,000 listeners, helping folks with visual impairment stay informed. Check it out: iowaradioreading.org

this is such an amazing initiative. UX in the physical world is so cool, I would love to see this adapted and implemented to make other sports venues accessible too!
this haptic display absolutely rocks. basketball is for everyone.

UX people could have this country running better than any country ever has 🤷🏻‍♀️
why are we putting the bad software developers in charge of everything? if we have to be ruled by people who make websites i reckon the figma team can run the treasury department a lot better than facebook guys

maybe I just drop everything and update/redesign my portfolio? I haven’t touched it since I got my first job post-college 😅

Monday was my 4 year work anniversary 🥳

So far only one feature I’ve worked on has seen the light of day, but big updates are coming!

Oh this is foul. I’m not sure we could even call this a dark UX pattern, this is just evil.
For anyone deleting X. Look at this.

The UI was tweaked to shift the clickable area of the deactivate button a few cm away from the actual "Deactivate" text.

Y'all, you need to add alt text to every image and screenshot you share, especially the ones with text on them. Make your content accessible. Include folks with disabilities in your conversations. Please and thank you.

we should be striving to make the world more accessible for everyone, not doing despicable things like trying to remove ASL interpretations.
🔊 PSA for nondisabled people 🔊

It's time to step the FUCK up if you wanna be an ally.

ASL interpretation is being targeted by right wing cry baby douchebags.

Shut this shit down when you see it. SPEAK UP. This barrage of ASL hate is heavier than usual.

When writing alt text, ask yourself if you would picture an approximation of the image if it was described to you over the phone using the alt text you've written. Doing that exercise can be a good way to determine if you're on the right track.

…hindering or eliminating the FDIC would be catastrophic.

This is so bad.

FDR created the FDIC amid The Great Depression in order to restore faith in American banking. People were basically losing everything when their banks failed.

The FDIC was meant to prevent so-called “bank runs” where people would pull their money out to save what the could get.

I’m so glad my company has already phased out security questions entirely for our users. Two-factor auth/biometrics are so much more secure 🔒

Games User Experience Research Tip:

Avoid asking intent questions e.g. "Would you play/buy/recommend this game?"

Intent is not predictive of actual behaviour because the situation people are in now is usually different from the situation in the future
