A great summary of the court case involving a petrol station and a bus lane.

If the petrol stations of this world win out over sustainable transport… do we have any hope of halting climate change?

I've spent the day in The High Court listening to Lissan Coal Company v An Bord Pleanála. This is a judicial review of ABP's decision to approve the BusConnects Blanchardstown to City Centre scheme.

The Court of Appeal has ruled in Dublin City Council's favour in the Strand Road cycle route case. This case had the potential to further delay and increase the costs of a lot of small infrastructure projects. A very good decision!

Ireland’s tortured relationship with trees seems set to continue.

Another brilliant piece by @whittledaway.bsky.social!
Opinion: This government is determined to turn its back on sustainable forestry in Ireland
Pádraic Fogarty says that despite the climate crisis, Ireland’s native trees are last in line once again as unsustainable forestry practices continue.

My take on the latest greyhound injuries stats - 1 in 8 racing greyhounds injured in 2024. About 1 in 15 killed. The State subsidised the sport with €19.8m in funding last year:
