This song is the absolute bane of my holiday season, and I say this as a staunch defender of weirdo holiday songs like Jethro Tull’s “Ring Out, Solstice Bells.” McCartney should have titled his ditty “Guaranteed Holiday Royalty Checks” and been done with it.
Just back from the Blind Guardian show. What a night. What a band. No matter what size the venue, this is a group that never, ever phones it in. Support acts Seven Temple and Ensiferum were great too. I am so glad we went to see these legends again, even with the weather on the drive home.

This all came about because @youngmrduffy.bsky.social and I were talking about my mom’s amazing baking skills. I made a joke about “get pie or die trying,” and my genius husband said, “Yes! Our next game!” Less than 24 hours later, he published this masterpiece.
Our new #ttrpg is Get Lich or Die Frying. It's a sequel to Cake or Death!, our game of goblins trying to score baked goods. This time, you play kobolds working at a fast food restaurant. When a lich leaves without paying, you band together to hunt them!

This is like @hookland.bsky.social brought to life in our world, only without the wit and spooky charm. It’s just complete and utter horror, a hideous mutation of what we’re supposed to cherish about the winter season. And the sad part is that people will defend it in the name of “progress.”

This is like @hookland.bsky.social brought to life in our world, only without the wit and spooky charm. It’s just complete and utter horror, a hideous mutation of what we’re supposed to cherish about the winter season. And the sad part is that people will defend it in the name of “progress.”
This. Also, my annual watch of @desertbus.org proves that Dr. Forester and TV’s Frank were onto something when they isolated a group of friends and subjected them to bad media for long stretches of time. It makes for an incredible viewing experience/psychological experiment.
