I met @henryrollins21361.bsky.social outside a record store in Ann Arbor. I told him my long distance boyfriend was a fan and begged him to sign a scrap of paper I had on me.

This is the meme in question. I take a certain amount of delight in knowing that aunt read it and agreed with everything listed. She's always been a spitfire, and that part of her nature has not dimmed with age.

What LeGuin dicusses here reminds me of why I've shifted from sci fi to fantasy over the years. It's unfortunate, but it seems that sci fi has become dominated by creators who feel a need to tell you that the present sucks, and the future is going to suck *even more.*
