Donald Drumpf is the biggest loser... a poor one to boot. His EOs are an indication of weakness. And don't forget the worst polling in presidential history, even worse than the first term he held office. Is it any wonder he resorts to authoritarian tactics? Weakest loser of all.
Conservative and liberal judges across the country this week ruled against President Donald Trump in at least 11 different lawsuits challenging his administration’s immigration, elections and anti-diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

It's a good reminder how effective the right language can be when framing the debate.
Being seen as a loser is what Trump fears this most. The “loser” label undermines his status as an authoritarian figure, making it impossible to uphold his image as a “strict father” conservative.

The Drumpf Administration & their Republican enablers in Congress score a perfect 10/10 for each element. The "F" word definitely applies.
In “How Fascism Works: The Politics of Us and Them,” Yale University Professor Jason Stanley lists the ten main elements of fascism.

We have summarized them:

For the first time, Oregon schools will get over a year to plan summer school—with guaranteed state funding. But there's a catch. Funds must be used for programs that help students reach grade-level reading and writing skills.
Bills to help Oregon schools fund years of summer learning await governor’s signature

More of our elected representatives need to echo Senator Murphy's insightful observations. @wyden.senate.gov @jeff-merkley.bsky.social @repvalhoyle.bsky.social

Say it loud and say it clear! If Sen. Murkowski can voice her rational fear, surely the Dems can voice their opposition.
The Trump-Supreme Court battle is not really the crisis.

The crisis is here now. Trump is enacting an insidious coordinated attack on our institutions of democratic accountability, designed to crater democracy before next fall.

We've seen videos like this before, but usually when you see a tearful wife pleading with the kidnappers who have taken her husband, she's not talking to the U.S. president
Abrego Garcia's wife: "I will not stop fighting until I see my husband alive. Kilmar, if you can hear me, stay strong. God hasn't forgotten about you. Our children are asking when you will come home ... they miss their dad so much."

Impeach the convicted felon and sexual predator Donald Drumpf. He is a state terrorist along with Secretary Marco Rubio.
I want to tell you why the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia should matter to you.

The one power you cannot give the executive is the ability to imprison or expel anyone regardless of their legal rights. That is our key check against autocracy. And we are watching it disappear.

Lots of focus on the trade war's impact on big industry. Here's @matthewkish.bsky.social on how the tariffs are clobbering Oregon small businesses.

The message is: crowd large.

Many politicians, administrators, and business leaders, in bowing to Trump, have drawn confidence and comfort from the perceived vibe shift.

Events like this puncture that delusion.

the US Marshal Service should be part of the judicial branch, not of the executive, so that it will not become confused about whence its authority stems and to whom its duty lies.
