this is a good article by @michaeljohnlo.bsky.social but I want to add more context:

the safest place to use unregulated drugs is at a safe consumption site.

the next safest place is in public view.

the least safest is indoors alone.

furthermore, “problematic” to whom? and YIKES

Damn! I’m so sorry @matthewgreen.bsky.social. The NDP ran a far better campaign & ground game in Hamilton Centre over any other party, yet the two ghost candidates who don’t even live in Hamilton overwhelming received more votes. Neither of whom even bothered to show up for the Cable 14 debate. /1

There is nothing wrong with being woke.

Republicans/Conservatives have co-opted the word and made it into something “bad”…

If we care about racism, misogyny, hate toward LGBTQ, we’re “woke” which is somehow a negative. Vote wisely 🇨🇦

Pierre Poilievre says he’ll end ‘woke ideology’ — he isn’t saying what that means

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die.

Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

Court Support Continues: Tuesday, and Wednesday! Update: the Courthouse was over capacity today. Thank you to everyone that showed up for Hamilton’s unhoused folks. The Judge instructed the court to find a bigger room for tomorrow. Let’s let the system know that no room is big enough.

Recovery is found in the access to housing security, the healing of therapy, employment, connection, and the safety of a supportive community; it's found in a new life where it's easier not to use!
