I don’t understand why so many people online put a space both before and after the punctuation at the end of each sentence. Why do people do this??? It’s so incredibly stupid looking and it’s annoying to read.

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.
We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

The fact that it's even possible for our government to shut down has always been bizarre to me. I feel like if Congress can't figure out how to fund the government, we should either have snap elections or they should all have to stay in the Capitol building til they agree on a plan.
