Another reminder:

Respiratory infections spread mainly through the air. That’s why they affect the lungs.

Masks, worn correctly and consistently, reduce the spread of respiratory infections.

Respirators work better than masks.

Washing hands isn’t wrong, but it won’t stop airborne transmission.

Blocking anyone who is mildly sus immediately and without particular emotional engagement is obviously the best way to go but once in a while it would be nice to have a block option that ALSO produces an animation of the profile being flushed down a toilet or maybe the text melting gruesomely away

On this day in 1892, Dr. James Collip was born in Belleville, Ontario.
While Sir Frederick Banting and Charles Best get most of the credit for discovering insulin, Collip also played a major role on the research team.
Let's learn more about him :)

Who else wants cool dinosaur news to brighten their day? 🙋🏻‍♀️
"...it was hypothesized... fossils could be attributed to a sudden burial by volcanism...

However, a new study... suggests the creatures were preserved by... collapses of burrows & rainy periods that built up sediments that buried the dead in oxygen-free pockets."

Volcanic Fossilization: Did a ‘Pompeii Event’ Really Preserve the World’s Most Pristine Dinosaurs?
Recent research suggests the exceptional fossils from China's Yixian Formation were preserved through natural sediment processes rather than volcanic activity, revising previous scientific assumptions...
