It would take a two-word amendment to 42 U.S.C. § 1983 to subject ICE agents and other federal law enforcement officers to the same liability for constitutional violations that local and state officers currently face.

If Congress actually cared about what it's seeing, it could pass that overnight.

The tragic death of Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year old mother fatally shot by ICE, shows that ICE can’t be reformed and must be abolished.

I’ll be introducing the Abolish ICE Act as a step toward justice, accountability, and humanity in our immigration policy.

Time to melt ICE.

Fuck you people. Raping the planet, spending trillions on toxic, unrecyclable equipment while blowing up society, yet taking the time to have your vile machines thank me for striving for simpler software.

Just fuck you. Fuck you all.

I can't remember the last time I was this angry.

FUCK ICE
My constituent, Wilmer, was mauled by an ICE attack dog despite the fact that, as he has consistently explained, he was not resisting arrest or trying to flee—his wife and young children, all U.S. citizens, were forced to watch helplessly as Wilmer was violently attacked and dragged away.

1000 times this. I have stepped away, switched fields and roles, made decisions to prioritize a good working environment over all else, and I'd still like out. I wouldnt tell 18 year old me who liked math and didn't know much about computers to enter compsci as a career.
Someone asked me at a conf once what I would say, as a psychologist and a queer woman in tech who has stayed in tech longer than the classic cutoff at 35, to a younger woman approaching the 35 cliff and thinking about leaving, and I said I would say I'm sorry we failed you and I want you to be happy

It's only "gay" if you lock eyes with your bestie while licking the ice cream cone 😂
So many men go through life like that. You can play poker because it's right-coded, you can't enjoy fruity alcoholic drinks because they're women-coded, you can't lick an ice cream cone because it's gay-coded. All day, every day, choosing and judging things based on coding for narrow norms.

Really appreciating these posts to make sense of what is going on. Reading most mainstream outlets gives no clue about *why* courts and judges take the decisions they do.
Trying to figure out what #SCOTUS just did with #SNAP, and why Justice Jackson temporarily froze the district court's ruling?

Via "One First," me on what's going on—and why I think Jackson's move was savvy, notwithstanding the awful circumstances that forced it:

It seems likely to me that the GOP may not even need other types of voter suppression if SCOTUS gets rid of Section 2 for them. I think even if Dems win the House in '26, they won't be able to address this, and it could get a lot worse by '28?
North Carolina already one of most gerrymandered states. Now GOP passing new gerrymander giving Rs nearly 80% of seats in state where Trump got 51%. Specifically targets Black Dem Don Davis. This is preview of what post-Voting Rights Act America will look like www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
