I’m kind of speechless with this one. I can’t imagine the kind of person who continues to make the argument that it doesn’t count as real starvation if the kids were already sick.

I love this! And, investing in breastfeeding needs to include research into causes and treatment for low milk supply. I say this as someone who even with adequate support was still unable to breastfeed both of my children due to the very low volume I was producing.

Investing in #breastfeeding works! Around the world, millions more infants under six months old are now exclusively breastfed:

Here’s a progress scale:
⭐ 2012: 37%
⭐ 2020: 44%
⭐ 2024: 48%

By supporting breastfeeding mums, countries protect health, reduce diseases, and improve survival. 💪

On a day that the congress has decided to go on an early recess and take 6 weeks of paid leave it is important to remember that in the U.S there is no federal law that guarantees paid maternity leave or family leave.
Just something to think about in case you need more things to think about today.

My latest — I wrote about Trump pardoning reality stars Todd and Julie Chrisley’s tax and bank fraud convictions after their daughter praised him at the RNC vs. 18-year-old Marcelo Gomes da Silva’s wrongful ICE detainment, and how justice has merely become a presidential transaction.

While ICE patrols court houses for law-abiding immigrants, Trump's friends get a free pass.

A huge step from HHS that is at odds with science showing significant risks for young children and pregnant women — and that directly contradicts *the FDA's own publication* from last week listing pregnancy as a high-risk condition that would qualify people for this fall's Covid vaccine

These are VERY rough estimates, but here's life expectancy after diagnosis of type-I diabetes over the past 150 years.

It was Banting and Best's discovery of how to isolate insulin in 1921 — not some fucking cooking class — that gave people including my daughter a new lease on life.
