Yale researchers didn't stop there. They also identified what people most need to know to catalyze action and support climate policy; and it's not about global temps, ice sheets, or ocean currents.

What people most need to know about climate change is that (1) others care, and (2) there is hope.
Understanding six “key truths” about climate change predicts policy support, discussion, and political advocacy
Social norms and collective efficacy are strong predictors

Oh hey it turns out another thing Covid cautious people have been saying nonstop for several years is true: lockdowns did not cause “immunity debt,” and Covid infections DO cause immune disruptions that make you more vulnerable to other illnesses.

This is my 4th of July message to American resisters.
We are in very dark times and it is going to get darker. But we must take back democracy and the rule of law at the grassroots and in the streets.
We need to support each other across the border.

The problem isn’t just who’s in power — it’s first-past-the-post that lets any PM or Premier concentrate power with 40% of the vote.

Proportional representation is how we stop this cycle and build real checks and balances. www.fairvote.ca/12/06/2025/f...

First-past-the-post can hand one party a majority government with less than half the vote. They can use that power to give themselves more.

I spent the last few days reaching out to advocates, experts and the government about Prime Minister Mark Carney’s new border bill, Bill C-2.

What I learned was…not reassuring.

In fact, advocates are warning it could create a framework for Trump-style mass deportations -- and more:

These young people are going to Gaza to try and stop the murder of children.
That they have to put their live on the line reflects the absolute failure of the west, the G7, Canada.
Call the Israeli embassy and warn them not to harm these children.
The world watches.

Israel is going to kill them if our leaders don’t say anything.
Members of the Freedom Flotilla, a peaceful mission to break the siege on Gaza, are reporting that a drone is hovering over their ship currently en route to Gaza.

This isn’t just an idle threat. A few weeks ago, Israel bombed a separate freedom flotilla ship near Malta with two suicide drones.

The case for proportional representation is undeniable.

CTV reports on how our democracy distorting voting system fuels regional divisions, and how proportional representation can fix it.

@mark-carney.bsky.social, will you champion a system where every vote truly counts?
