KIMMEL: “That sonofabitch… I never imagined we’d have a president like this, and I hope we never have another president like this again… celebrating hundreds of Americans losing their jobs - he took pleasure in that. The opposite of what a leader is supposed to be.”

When I got a PhD in nineteenth-century political history, I really, truly never imagined I would have to find a way to explain to readers what an eggplant emoji means. (Wired reported more Signalgate Venmo accounts.) I yearn for the day when I can write about good, clean fun like tax policy again.

I’m not very confident about anyone’s ability to stop fascist Musk and Trump and all their bribed lackeys from destroying the financial infrastructure of the country. We waited too long. This is certainly ignorant and naive of me, but maybe there’s a way to undercut them via the states? (1)

The most ludicrous part of this tariff fiasco is that trade with Canada and Mexico was taking place under the USMCA trade agreement, negotiated and signed by Donald Trump 5 years ago.

Did the "Art of the Deal" guy sign a bad deal?

If so, why should he be trusted to sign a good deal in the future?

Dear California farmers and Congressional representatives:
Trump has just literally thrown millions of gallons of #water away that farmers were counting on this summer, purely to brag that he could.
That #cawater cannot be captured or used now by anyone.

Acting on Trump's order, federal officials opened up two California dams
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers just opened up two California dams. A spokesperson says the flows are 'controlled' and being coordinated with local officials.

Completely idiotic.
More stupid: California just "gave" California this water, which Trump is claiming credit for. "Water managers were relieved Thursday evening after the Army Corps of Engineers agreed to back off of a sudden decision earlier in the day to dump massive amounts of water." sjvwater.org/decision-to-...

If the new government takes down scientific studies and papers from govt websites, here's one showing the anti-vaxx movement and the rejection of COVID vaccines caused the preventable deaths of an estimated 232,000 Americans.

Musk and his team have hostilely taken over OPM. Tonight’s email to fed employees mirrors the “Fork in the Road” message sent to Twitter (now X) staff after Musk’s 2022 takeover. He is working with the Trump administration to build profiles on federal workers based on loyalty (political standing).
