I look forward to Labour looking at this and deciding to court Reform votes even harder 🙄
More than half of people who voted Labour in July say they are considering switching to the Lib Dems or the Greens at the next general election, according to new @thinksinsight.bsky.social shared with PolHome

These voters appear easier to win back than those considering Reform, the poll found

A savvy UK government would prioritize EU ties, not talks with Trump. His word is worthless, his intentions are malign, his method is chaos, and his preferred partner is Putin. There is no time to waste building strategic autonomy for EU+UK. Trump talks will only waste time. END

By suspending all military aid to Ukraine, Donald Trump has humiliated the people who pretended he was a reliable ally only in search of peace.

The UK and Europe must seize frozen Russian assets to resist Putin’s unjust and savage war.

If there was ever any tiny shred of hope that the olive branch of a state visit would move the needle at all, then the news of Trump pausing aid to Ukraine whilst contemplating the lifting of sanctions on Russia shows that hope to be false. Accept that Trump is a Russian asset and cancel the visit.
We have got to stop kidding ourselves that appeasing Trump & trying to please him gains us any leverage, any guarantees, any reliable favour.

Trump has chosen Putin and the oligarchy. We must cancel his state visit. @ukstoptrump.bsky.social

Excellent post from @jamesbreckwoldt.bsky.social on Con to LD switchers - we all need heuristics to make sense of complex results, but when simplifying sketches curdle into misleading stereotypes then they do more harm than good. A great corrective: jamesbreckwoldt.substack.com/p/2019-conse...

Ukraine has fought too hard for its freedom, only to have its future dictated by Putin and Trump behind closed doors.

Any peace must guarantee Ukraine’s sovereignty and security on terms acceptable to Ukrainians, not just to Moscow and Mar-a-Lago.

What’s the point in refusing citizenship to refugees who have ‘made a dangerous journey’?

What’s the point in publishing footage of people being deported?

I’m sorry to say that this is simply a continuation of the performative cruelty we saw from the Conservatives.

Got to play a demo of this at the UKGE. It's worth a look if you want a historically themed asymmetric 2 player game.

Occasional reminder that there’s no, “it’s too late, its over” for anthropogenic climate change. Every molecule of CO2 that doesn’t go into the atmosphere makes a difference. Preventing 0.1 degree of warming makes a difference. Every bit of climate resilience we build together makes a difference.
