Both Elon Musk and Christian nationalists call empathy "toxic," "suicidal," and even "satanic."

But what they're really worried about is that empathy is *feminine*.

And in MAGA, a woman is the worst thing a person can be. An analysis.

Elon Musk and the Christian right call empathy "toxic" and "suicidal" — blame their shared misogyny
MAGA demonizes empathy as the "pathological feminine" — and it's why women shouldn't be Supreme Court justices

science fiction is one of those fascinating industries that almost everyone who isnt directly involved in seems to think has always been historically way more progressive and inclusive than it is in reality, when in doubt, recall that we are the field that gave you HP Lovecraft
How did the tech bro crowd, growing up on stories of sci-fi, transhumanism, virtual reality and limitless ability to modify one's body, "biohacking," etc. end up becoming so viscerally anti-transgender? Truly boggles my mind.

Thread on why you should buy books in a series, even if the series isn't done (and even if some other author has not completed their own series). It comes down to: 99.9% of the time, supporting the author at publication GREATLY increases the chance of getting to see the entire series published.
Getting a lot of "I tried that, but Game of Thrones, Wheel of Time and Kingkiller ruined me!" replies.

Pull up a chair and I'll explain how publishing works.
I know others have said this, but if you love a series, BUY THE BOOKS AS THEY COME OUT. You can go on a reading spree later, but for the love of god, buy the books now.

You've been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who is coming to save you?

Eh, I should be alright then ☺️

If any of my #Booksky friends are looking for a fun read, I highly recommend these two novels (yes, somewhat selfishly because I want more of the series).

If you are a fan of whodunnits with odd couple amateur sleuths paired with professional detectives, this needs to join your TBR list!
It’s been 14 years since BLOODSHOT and HELLBENT came out, and at least once a month I *still* get an email or two asking why there aren’t any more of those books. Anyway, please don’t wait years to buy GRAVE RESERVATIONS and FLIGHT RISK if you want a series. www.simonandschuster.com/books/Grave-...

Make it go viral but make sure she benefits.
