Managed to drop my phone and crack the screen. Apparently on iPhones if you damage the casing a little bit too, so it's impossible to change the screen, the whole phone is a write off and you can't access any of the data at all. Seems like a weird design fault to me.

My employer, which requires me to use a VPN to access a whole host of internal sites not to mention the servers that our production code runs on, will no doubt be thrilled about this. The British state knows nothing about technology.

When I worked for the charity that promotes Wikipedia, the Mail rang up our tiny charity office to shout at our staff about the fact that Wikipedia editors had decided to list the DM as an unreliable source, something we had no control over. Wikipedia ppl generally detest the Mail.
