I’m starting a PhD next year and intend on principle to never publish with a commercial for profit publisher. Open Library of the Humanities and other university presses will not sell your work to LLMs.

I did a big review of the academic publishing sector and the commercial, for profit companies like T&F and Elsevier will absolutely sell their content to provide training data for LLMs if they can get away with it to make an extra buck. They care about little else.
