That's not true. A new bill can be proposed in either chamber. No Dem House members voted to end the shutdown; it was ended by several senators when Thune promised to hold a Senate vote, which happened and predictably failed. Johnson said at the time that he wasn't promising to hold a vote.

So is it that 1. some of these Rs really do care about saving us from the cliff, 2. it's purely political - they get credit for supporting an extension that they know won't pass the Senate, or 3. they're fixin' to oust Johnson?

Trump is simply reminding his base that they should use violence against people who disagree with him.
