Ah yes thank you CNBC, that's definitely the thing that's costing the economy, definitely not all of the financial instability and rising cost of living.

There's also the humanitarian and ethical issues of smartphone supply chains containing blood minerals from Democratic Republic of Congo.
CNBC editor goes with “it’s costing the economy” while we watch families go hungry and our neighbors abducted by a secret paramilitary force

Americans are holding onto devices longer than ever and it’s costing the economy

Americans are holding onto devices longer than ever before, and while it may be consumer smart, it comes at a cost to work productivity and the U.S. economy.

Stans/fans are so scary! No wonder Cambridge dictionary chose "parasocial" as their 2025 word of the year.

There are people who think others do better and that is perfectly okay! People are allowed varying opinions about their media even if you disagree and it's a reach to think it's an attack.

Yesterday me: I'm not big on fandom merch.

Today:
"You want the whole package and not just the movie ticket?" "Are you sure?"
Me: Yes please. One Wicked For Good ticket package!

UMM THIS MERCH THOUGH???

I'm obsessulated. 🩷💚

P.S. No Good Deed destroyed me. That's all.

Reading through book reviews and someone said that "recurrence of certain words that have become tainted by their frequency of appearance in AI-generated text" and it's back to the whole em dash thing again.

I hate AI so much. Where do you think AI learned these words? Not from the dictionary!

It is difficult for some to use a library voice, to whisper. THAT’S OKAY. You belong in the library, we will work together. I admire YOU 😊

Take a look, it’s in a book 💛

I am so upset.

Last week Time Magazine solicited a piece from me on Zohran Mamdani & anti-Muslim hate. I pitched a framing re the dehumanization of Muslims & how Mamdani’s inclusive, socialist campaign in its content resists that. They agreed. I wrote the piece. 1/
To be asked to write about racism only to be racially aggressed in the editing process is a new level unlocked I have to say.

today’s information came out piecemeal, and people should be able to share their own situations on their own time, but I could share this much ^ as it is pretty cut and dry on the facts.

Teen Vogue also no longer has any trans staffers as of today.

I read a really popular book and at first I rated it a 4.5⭐. The longer I've sat with it the lower the rating goes as random things about it just pop into my head every time someone talks about it.

This is why I revisit my ratings. It's now at 3.75⭐. I have no interest in the author's other works.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but if you have friends struggling through the shutdown, consider inviting them over for a family dinner this week. Make too much. Insist they take leftovers home. Some folks can't say they need help out loud but will appreciate the kindness.

Today I learned my least favorite word in Mandarin. Can't even escape it in real life 😭 It's my version of moist - grinds my gears with no explanation.

Hearing it in so many of my audiobooks is bad enough.

The word? Undulate.

Yes, they posted this. Meaning of "Remigrate."

“Remigration is an originally European far-right proposal of ethnic cleansing via the mass deportation of non-white immigrants and their descendants, sometimes including those born in Europe, with local citizenship, to their place of racial ancestry.”
