Worth listening to Julian's comments and the council officer's response - essentially they won't consider Active Travel England's suggestions for this *town centre* development until the use for each plot is defined. It speaks of #motonormativity. youtu.be/0MJrnF2FlBs?...

Thanks Mike. Unfortunately the LibDems and Labour councillors didn't even second my amendment to have a framework travel plan. It wasn't asking for much. Doesn't fill me with confidence for a new administration.

It's a fallacy to say that we have to choose between builders and blockers.

We could choose to have to right sorts of development, in the right place, at the right price that would meet our housing needs while protecting our precious natural environment.

Over 5 million people have had their elections cancelled in Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Thurrock, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

The Green Party is urging the government to protect democracy and allow these long-planned elections to take place.

The government’s Devolution White Paper is an outright attack on local democracy

Thanks LFF for carrying my piece. In 2025 the left needs to add Defending Local Democracy to the To Do list! @owenjones.bsky.social

Regimes like the the Assads' fall. They always fall.

Which makes our #ArmsSales and other support for Saudi Arabia deeply dangerous and short-sighted, as well as morally indefensible.

Those arms will end up somewhere, and new regime will remember the past

Where is Bashar al-Assad? Rumours that he's fled swirl despite official denials.

Regimes like his that are built on mass murder, torture & repression can collapse very quickly.

It's clear that many Syrians see the rebels as liberators.

People ask us "but where are the democrats?".
They were in the prisons, they were driven from their land.
And today they are returning home.

There's me in the corner :) It was humbling to hear about the way our siblings in Northern Ireland are working hard in a hostile environment with executive parties in Stormont who don't give a **** about communities their environment.
Just leaving Belfast after a lovely weekend with the Green Party of Northern Ireland, sharing the politics of hope in difficult times.
