The most surreal and maddening feature of the campaign was that everyone agreed that high prices were the main issue but the guy explicitly, consistently running on a platform of raising everyone’s prices won voters most concerned about high prices.

I wonder who’s to blame for the separate form of governance that social media and big tech has morphed into.
Every day so far is just some version of “do we still have that one load bearing law that protects the system from abuse? Maybe not!”

Not to mention the national unpopularity of a total abortion bad. Several conservative states enshrined abortion this cycle, which only weakens the reactionary argument for the perceived virtue of a pro-life stance.
One difference between this and abortion policy is that Trump didn't want to talk about abortion (said he'd veto a ban etc) but has talked at length about using the tools of government to roll back trans rights/gender medicine. They believe they have a mandate here. www.semafor.com/article/02/0...
