Intro for new followers: I'm a long-time (i.e. old) Python and Web developer. Now mostly apply that to digital humanities and corpus linguistics with focus on historical languages (especially Ancient Greek) and Tolkien. Also education, data visualization, music theory, and a handful of other things.

Wonderful letter about my favourite playwright but also a reminder about something I often wonder: why do we wait for people to die to share this sort of thing? We should do it more when people are still alive!

It's always disappointing when someone here who is knowledgable about something I'm interested in learning about says really dumb things about something I know a lot about.
