what is fascinating to me is the number of people whose “knowledge” of government appears to just be an accumulation of cliches and stereotypes + an inchoate sense that if something is big and costly then it must necessarily be “wasteful”
Interesting piece which reveals a lot of the tech bro ignorance of government: DOGEr comes in, expects to find lots of inefficiency, is at least willing to acknowledge he was wrong unlike the hard core ideologues.

You can do more.

We discussed ways to protect yourself from exposure. Vital you do so and we give tips in the clip below.

When three gorgeous Eastern bluebirds join you for breakfast, that’s a good look. I’ll be having eggs and toast, and they are enjoying safflower and sunflower “meats”, but all are welcome. Bluebirds are not common on feeders in the mid-Atlantic so I’ll enjoy the company when I can.

Trust that it pains me to use CNN to put out a WaPo story but here we are.

WaPo lays off roughly 100 staffers as star journalists, and a Pulitzer Prize winning editorial cartoonist, exit.
Subscriptions continue to plummet.

Good.

Thank goodness for people like former WAPO cartoonist @anntelnaes.bsky.social, American hero. This may only be the rough of the cartoon she planned to run before she was told she couldn't, but it speaks volumes, perhaps, especially in this form.

"Tired of seeing your money go overseas?" reads a product page. "Support your fellow Americans by purchasing a Protect Our People t-shirt."

Shirt appears to be made on Next Level blanks ... which are made in Central America and Haiti.
