Princession Orchestra is so good. If you were craving a show with Symphogear-style battle singing, here it is
And god forbid I neglect to include the insert song immediately after: OVER THE BLAZE!
I really like the intro bit. The lights, the instruments, the STEP? Immaculate, all of it.

Cool exploit that takes advantage of several insane things about Windows. For what it's worth, mpv parses and encodes command-lines correctly, but it can't prevent external programs launched with utils.subprocess from being vulnerable.

Genuinely huge news. Even in world with VP9, AV1 and so, H.264 is still a powerhouse of a video format, largely due to the open source x264 encoder being one of the best pieces of software ever written. The only real downside with it is that hardware decoding is mostly limited to 8-bit channel depth

Started playing Pseudoregalia and it's peak. I wasn't sure I'd like it since I'm not that into metroidvanias, but it's a great platformer. It really feels as good as everyone says. A real Mario 64-like. Also the perfect dream-like atmosphere for when you've still got a fever from Christmas covid.

I would also like to remind subtitle implementers everywhere, not just in games, that if you want to have subtitles that look nice AND read well, then decently sized outer stroke and a bit of drop shadow goes a really long way. Though you should also have a solid BG box as an accessibility option.

Today's JavaScript nightmare: Calling Promise.race with a long-lived promise leaks a little bit of memory in V8, so if you have the brilliant idea of making a promise "abortable" by racing it with a promise that rejects if an AbortSignal aborts, it's not a brilliant idea

Shadow Generations was amazing. I love how it was respectful to an era of Sonic games that many said was too edgy and serious. The alternate paths and different ways to approach obstacles felt like the classic games, and it had heaps of open sections that felt like the best parts of Sonic Adventure.

So I had that problem with fetch() where there's no good way to get the upload progress, but it's surprisingly easy to reimplement fetch() with XHR if you're allowed to use the real Request and Response objects and you're not concerned about spec compliance (because it only has to do that one thing)
