I’m going to try to explain why, while I understand anger toward the parents whose unvaccinated children died of measles, I don’t share it. IMO it is a tragedy. My reasons for this hinge on 2 main points:

1. Public health requires the public

2. We can’t ignore the social determinants of health

Nice update on this. Smart people here with mad skills were generous with their time and tracked down the owner of the docs — a third generation descendent. Turned out my friend, whose yard it below into, knows them - they are more than a mile away. Owners reunited with heirloom docs. Thanks all.
Who was Mrs. Fred J. Martin — likely named Carol? Who still loved or even remembered her, 90 years after this condolence telegram that blew from a fire-ravaged neighborhood in Altadena into a distant yard?
