Sometimes, you reach out to your writing heroes and sometimes, they reach back. Despite a book release/tour, fabulous fabulist & keeper of the uncanny, Karen Russell wrote back, read & loved AUDITION FOR THE FOX.

I'd say pinch me, but I don't want to wake up. Preorder now! @tachyonpub.bsky.social

Secty of Defense Pete Hegseth is literally threatening to send the US Marines to attack Los Angeles. This is like out of a movie but it’s real. Trump has declared war on the Blue States. Is it time for Blue state legislatures to meet to plan ways to protect their citizens from Trump?!

So damn proud of these kids for their courage. 💥 Hundreds of Milford, MA high schoolers walked out in protest today after ICE detained their classmate Marcelo Gomes Da Silva. Detained on his way to volleyball practice. Illegally.

These students aren’t backing down—they’re rising up.

if dems want messaging help, stop telling people you're "fighting back." it sounds like you're being mugged. call off the podcaster search, take your ridiculous money pile and try opening some food banks and free clinics. hurricanes are coming and the feds have no plan. looks like an opening to me.

I’ll be there, testifying & offering amendments to protect our families.

I love a well-placed semicolon.
The semicolon might be the punctuation mark that most accurately mimics the way two images/ideas sometime rest against each other in my head and so I can use a lot of them. My last novel editor also loved the semicolon—or at least recognized how they work in my writing—and added even more. Heaven!
Just when you thought it couldn't possibly get any worse.
