Q: Do you think it would've been fitting to lower the flags to half staff when Melissa Hortman, the Minnesota House Speaker, was gunned down by an assassin?

TRUMP: I'm not familiar. The who?

My Democratic colleagues and I just left the state of Texas to break quorum and stop Trump’s redistricting power grab.

Trump is trying to rig the midterm elections right before our eyes. But first he’ll have to come through us.

It’s time to fight back.

I’ve spent most of the last decade doing candidate recruitment so I feel qualified to say this:

If you do not like the person running, find someone to run against them or run yourself. Especially this far out from the election & filing deadlines, this is an option available to you if you so chose!

One of the hidden perks of my new habit of taking a walk after work every evening is that i get more time with these beautiful sunsets.

I started taking a walk after work immediately after the election. It was my form of reclaiming control over my life. It has been quite rewarding.

Something frustrates me about all the posts in seeing on FB Democratic pages about "What do we do now? How do we stop him?"

Any election in the past 10 years was the time to stop him. Now it's time for damage control, defense, and harm reduction.

Help somebody get through this.

As a Sociologist, I need to tell you

the chaos cascade (200+ exec orders) isn't dysfunction — it's disaster capitalism's playbook. your confusion = their strategy.

I've grown a bit jaded with politics since my campaign. It was a short stint, but I got to see some of the political machinery up close.

I'm glad that I pivoted & put my energy into community efforts, closer to home, through non-profit work.

It's harder to be jaded when seeing your neighbors.

So what are you doing to help make the world a better place? In even the smallest ways. The little things add up.

The Texas Renaissance Festival is great because you can just take the whole bottle of mead with you as you stroll about whilst browsing and buying expensive baubles.

Confessions of a caffeine addict: ☕

Sometimes I just run more water through the coffee ground when I don't wanna brew a whole new pot of coffee.

The Club Q shooting was two years ago. May we live to see a safer world. May we be the ones to create it.

Still loving our outfits for last weekend's Equality Texas gala.
The theme was "Texas Hold 'Em" because this year, we're gonna hold the line against the onslaught in the Texas Legislature.

We went to go see Cyndi Lauper last night in Houston. She's such a treasure. Since 1986: "Don't be afraid". ♥️🌈

If you're ever feeling powerless or like things are out of your control, focus on something that is within your control. Start a new habit or routine (and keep it very simple so you succeed!) You can do it! You *can* make your life a little brighter.

Hi, hey, hello. Howdy. Which aisle do I find all the Democratic Texas Politics content? I want to (metaphorically) roast marshmallows on the Ken Paxton Dumpster Fire.
