One thing I learnt reading Tade Thompson's fiction is how much agency the women have. They are super proactive and carry the plot so integrally. They even make the first move many times in the cases of love interests. His fiction is a good blueprint for this.

The unnecessary need of cinephiles to defend Avatar against The Last Airbender universe. Both are great. Maybe the problem are the fandoms.

Victimhood is an epidemic of the modern world. Humans would rather identify with their pain for the rest of their lives, rather than heal from it. Inequality and marginalisation is now a badge of honor for sufferers, a signal of virtue.

I was returning home when a woman I had never met (who I suppose is in her early twenties) waved to me. I was taken aback but managed an imperceptible nod. Standing in front of me, she said, "I want to talk to you." I said I was on my way to somewhere, and walked past.

It would be nice to have an anthology of animated shorts like love, death & robots or secret level that centers around afro and african futurism, such that many of our speculative fiction would breathe in another medium.

My God, what a read!
This was originally published in 2010, so it is not in fact based on the current resident of the White House, no matter how well the title might fit him. Also, the White House in the story is run rather better than the one we have at the moment.
