Resurfacing to point out that, as of right now, the nation's attorney general has 30 days to release the Epstein files.

Dec. 19 is the last possible day.

Let's hope we actually see what's in them, and they don't get butchered by the redaction squad.
Once Congress passes the Epstein bill — and Trump signs it, if he does — we'll get these records within a month.

I'm thinking... mid December release?

To understand what happened today in court with Trump's prosecutor in Virginia, it's worth taking a closer look at all the *other* mistakes they made when trying to indict James Comey.

Remember when the Trump administration ignored a judge's order to return planes deporting 200+ "alien enemies" to El Salvador in March?

In DC court just now, that judge said he'll force DOJ officials to testify. And maybe top Trump admin officials.

Putting aside the hilariously ill-conceived placement of an AI advertisement mid-story, the three cited examples are all public utilities.

So are we ready to nationalize AI? Or heavily regulate it?

I still love a good exclusive. But I think the ones that are really worth getting are the kind that lose you access, if you ever had it to begin with — not the kind that come from having it.
One of the hardest things about moving from academia to journalism was the fetishization of access — and SCOOPS — and this Nuzzi/Lizza discourse underlines why it always felt like shit and still does

As the United States inches toward war with Venezuela, you'd think the Trump administration would want to solidify its relationship with Colombia.

It's been the USA's biggest ally in Latin America for decades.

It's Venezuela's neighbor.

Nope.
