"Things happen" sometimes, like when you walk into an embassy to apply for your marriage license while your bride-to-be waits outside, but then you get bonesawed to pieces for having exercised freedom of speech as an US-based journalist and have to be carried out in a series of suitcases.
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

This is not a massive decision or any kind of change. Costco has never carried mifepristone in its pharmacies. An anti-abortion group is taking credit for something that didn't happen, possibly to generate disingenuous left-wing ire against one of the few corporations that hasn't gone MAGA.

I read something this year (probably on here, for my sins) that, contemporaneously, no one knew the Roman Empire was falling forever, just that one day an important bridge collapsed and no one ever came to fix it. I think about this all the time.
The MAGA-led response to the Texas floods is going great - so great that locals are still finding rotting human body parts in the debris that no one in government appears to care about picking up:
