Proud Kentuckian, fervent leftie, Xennial raising 2 girls with less rights than I grew up with and mad about it.
Maybe this was obvious to everyone, but I just realized that fantasy football (or baseball, etc.) is just a guy version of a ladies group chat. This thought makes me less annoyed about it. Have your fun, fellas! For us it's our deepest thoughts and funniest memes. For you it's sports talk.

I absolutely HAS to be a play for the Epstein files. And if so, it better be as annihilating as it purports to be. And we better go after it EVERYWHERE. Anything less and I'll donate to anyone who wants to primary these assholes.

There is nothing more familiar about being a Democrat than having a week like last week: victories, courage, rallying of support, conviction, court wins, MOMENTUM, followed IMMEDIATELY by complete surrender and capitulation. And we wonder why we lose. Always. Fucking cowards.

Dear republican congresspeople: gerrymandering red states makes your margins smaller, and your win less secure. Standing with this extremely unpopular president might not be the winning idea you thought it was. Maybe it's time to reconsider.

Who knew I needed an election day to restore my faith in America? Well done candidates and voters. This Kentuckian is feeling hopeful for the first time in a long time. Our turn next in 12 months. It feels more likely now that we will get a voice.

Ok this is pretty good. The Onion, you'll always have my heart. Seems like it was just yesterday we would crowd around the paper issues in the dorms. (It was 25 years ago, eeek)

This is tragic and to teen girls' detriment everywhere. What a loss.
thank you for all the support; the statement from our union is now live here with some more reporting.
now that this is public I can confirm that the majority of today’s layoffs were women of color. there are no longer any Black women working at Teen Vogue.

UPS announced 48,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $24M last year.
Intel announced 20,000 layoffs. Its new CEO's pay package is valued at nearly $69M.
This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.

I'm contemplating the fall of society and what that means for my daughters (10 and 14) and feeling despondent. And then it occurs to me that I'm thinking about this in a bed, comfortable. Well fed with delicious, nutritious food. Sipping wine and petting a pampered dog. 1)

Just as the Saddam Hussein statue needed to topple on film for the optics, the ballroom must also fall on film. They get this and we don't and it's why they win. The optics are it. It's the whole ballgame. If we don't bulldoze it on day one, we confirm that we are weak and it begins again.

He's (well, someone, probably Stephen Miller) denying SNAP benefits in a hope that it will encourage lawlessness. Mothers will steal to feed their kids. I would if I had to. More crime, more justification for military intervention.
