Toasting to the illumination of the #BoulderStar tonight! I'm not ready for the holidays quite yet, but I look forward to the extra sparkle during these dark days.

Went to #ConnectForHealthCO to see how our #insurance options might change for 2026, and renewing our same plan would mean a 26% monthly increase with a $600 increase in our deductible.

However, we can't even LOOK at other plans until we opt-out of renewing this one. WHAT A BROKEN SYSTEM!!

The place we're staying tonight apparently doesn't get Fox, so the entire family is crowded around a laptop LISTENING to a feed of the radio broadcast. It's been a totally unique experience, and I'm actually loving it. Even 6 hrs in...

27 million pounds of chicken

2 million gallons of milk

67 million eggs

That’s how much food grown by American farmers never made it to hungry families because of the administration’s decision to cancel deliveries to food banks.

#MarvelSnap isn't fun when your opponent uses only defensive cards. It's no longer a game of strategy when you Wong and Odin your Hazmat, you're just a bully.

Ok. So. A lot of congress will say they “submitted a letter to forgo pay during shutdown.”

Congress is paid once a month so they have 30 days. Secondly, they want you to believe they are saying they will give up their pay. No. They just hold it until it reopens

"Democrat things"? What does that even mean?
Personally and professionally, my costs have increased dramatically, and income has stayed steady. Either as a citizen or as a business-owner, I can't agree that the country is "doing well."
Trump: “A lot of good can come down from shutdowns. We can get rid of a lot of things that we didn't want, and they'd be Democrat things.”

Spent a few days with the in-laws this week, and this scene has been on an internal loop. It took me almost 20 years, but I feel some freedom in realizing that.

We got a letter congratulating me that my healthcare premium had been cut in half. Turns out that Connect for Health CO decided they couldn't verify my husband's citizenship(he was born in Indiana and we submitted the correct SSN and dob), so they canceled his coverage. #healthcare #brokenaystem

🚨 There’s a lot of horrific news out of Washington right now—but you might have missed this: Senate Republicans just introduced a plan to sell off 120 million acres of our public lands.

Let me break down what’s in the bill and why it’s a full-scale land grab. 🧵

Trump fired over 1,000 National Park staff in February, and most still haven’t been reinstated. The $45 million he’s wasting on a military parade for his birthday could have paid their salaries for over a year.

This is terrifying, and the potential should be understood by everyone.
When I left the Washington Post in 2023, my colleagues and I were worried AI would hoover up our work and enable "zombies" to churn out stories based on our reporting and writing styles.

Today WaPo announced a partnership with OpenAI. And here it is: Zombie Gillian Brockell. I DID NOT WRITE THIS.

I'm attending a friend's milestone birthday party tomorrow that's a "No gifts, please." For a female friend, I'd bring flowers to acknowledge the occasion.
What's the masculine equivalent to a bouquet?
