Mobile lounges at Dulles need to go the way of the dinosaur. They are an anachronism and really not a great way to end a long trip. Put in a tunnel or something!!
VIRGINIA: A Dulles International Airport people mover struck the dock at Concourse D while arriving with passengers on board.

This deal to reopen the government is fucking disgraceful.
Tens of millions will lose their healthcare. Trump will be emboldened.
This is exactly what’s wrong with Democratic Party leadership and why we need more people in Congress who will actually hold the line.

I suspect a great many New Yorkers watching wealthy people’s wealth *fail* to get them preferential access to the mayor-elect are feeling better and better about their vote for Zohran Mamdani.
Canadian multimillionaire and Shark Tank guy Kevin O'Leary went on TV to say he's upset Zohran won't talk to him: "I and others who invest in real estate have tried to get a meeting to figure out what's rhetoric and what's policy. So far for me it's been crickets."

Last night I watched a ca. 1993 VHS recording of Repo Man, taped from an A&E airing. Quality was poor (30+ year-old tape). But fascinating in that it included many scenes that are not in the usual movie version. I continue to believe that Repo Man is the best movie ever.

Is it too late for a huge advertising blitz to make sure everyone hears of this?
Elon Musk has endorsed Andrew Cuomo for New York City Mayor, not Mamdani.

Rule of Law Alert: Trump’s authority for country-specific tariffs comes from the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, which doesn’t mention tariffs—but does require a national emergency.
An ad showing that Reagan opposed tariffs surely is not a national emergency. (It may be a personal one)

Donald Trump's puppet DOJ has no business screwing around with next month's election.
Sending the feds into California polling places is a deliberate attempt to scare off voters and undermine a fair election.
We will not back down. Californians decide our future — no one else.

This weekend I reread Damnation Alley, the Roger Zelazny classic. It is a good book, but gets a little wandering toward the end when describing weather phenomenon, like Zelazny does when there is movement between worlds in the Amber books. I can't figure out how the cover art relates to the story.

@aanmember.bsky.social so sad to see "Brain & Life" go digital only by ending the print magazine. I have read it for maybe 15 years or more, and often found useful information.
