Walmart and McDonald’s are among the top employers of workers who rely on food stamps.

McDonald's CEO raked in $18.2M last year — over 1,000x the company's median employee pay.

Walmart's CEO pocketed $27.4M — 930x the company's median employee pay.

See the problem?

I'm already sick of hearing how "difficult" this decision must have been for the Royals.

Wanting to protect a relative is no excuse for years-long reluctance to remove Andrew's titles after credible allegations of abhorrent abuse were revealed.

This should've been an obvious & immediate decision.

On this date, Matthew Shephard died 27 years ago. He was beaten, tortured, and left for dead on fence for being gay. Please keep him and his wonderful mother Judy in your thoughts. And let's all work for a world where such horrific things do not happen to anyone. ❤️🏳️‍🌈

A wealth tax called for in Parliament…

The PM thinks we can get growth without it.

I say we do both: get growth and fix our broken tax system.

I bought a Tesla because it was fast like a rocket ship. But now every time I drive it, I feel like a rolling billboard for a man dismantling our government and hurting people. So Tesla, you’re fired!

New ride coming soon.

I talk about this endlessly in my book....how our current electoral system is NOT fit for purpose

@petergeoghegan.bsky.social explains more re donations

Jeez Labour...tighten up these horrors....
NEW 🚨 Britain's electoral laws are broken - but successive governments have done nothing

Musk's proposed $100million donation to Nigel Farage shows we are on the cusp of a real crisis for British democracy

But it can be fixed. Here's how, by me

Musk’s $100m to Farage will break our democracy
Keir Starmer needs to fix Britain’s broken electoral laws now - if he doesn’t, we will all suffer the consequences

If only Louise Haigh had repeatedly kicked her partner…

Or been arrested for numerous sexual assault charges

Or been found to have frequently bullied her staff

Then maybe she’d still be in her position.

We need to learn the lessons of a free social media spreading misinformation without consequence. We’ve learned nothing since Brexit and Cambridge analytica and what’s happening in US. Dangerous times and we’re facing the rise of the far right rhetoric and now MPs in public office

Is BlueSky an echo chamber?

“Well, right now, it’s a place where I hear the echoes of artists, writers, cinephiles, scientists and neighbors caring about their neighbors. And that’s a hell of a lot better than being trapped in a chamber that’s increasingly filled with the echoes of Adolf Hitler.”
Before Musk took over Twitter in April 2022, I tweeted that I wouldn't leave "because I have a responsibility to share news with my audience here” even as I predicted that Twitter was “going to tank in the coming years under Musk.”
