This is the same rationale for rejecting AI for legal work. It’s through engaging with the text of the law that the reasoning occurs. You cannot avoid the work.
Writing a literature review is thinking. It is reading, choosing, summarizing, cross pollinating ideas and building the foundations for your own research. Every part of that process is necessary to do on your own--offloading any of that onto LLMs is a sign of a crappy academic.

As we watch all mention of diversity actively get scrubbed from the NIH website in real time it's important to know that, we were not taking over anything, we were just trying to exist.
- Only 2% of NIH R01 grants are awarded to Black investigators.
The goal is total erasure/elimination.

I haven't really used #rstats case_match before, but I think I'll start using it more. It's a nice little time saver and reduces repetition.

We just learned that our insurance is awful. We do not have enough coverage to rebuild and we do not have any coverage at all for temporary housing. So essentially, we have a mortgage and no home. Housing is outrageously expensive in Los Angeles. So I’m bumping this fundraiser again. Please share ❤️
We are so grateful to everyone who has reached out to offer support as we face this horrifying tragedy. We have a long road ahead and are comforted to know we are not alone. If you would like to contribute: gofund.me/95387a92

Tip from a journal editor: if you are late on a review, ask for an extension so we know when to expect it and so we can adjust those annoying auto reminders. I almost always would rather have a late review than no review.

Who is for abolishing grad app letters of rec at the point of application? Would it be so bad if letters were requested AFTER candidates were shortlisted? If we do this at UCSD who will join us?
