Will brings up she can do this because her campaign "virtually prints money," but her campaign virtually prints money because she does stuff like this.

There is an enormous appetite to do good things right now in a system that rewards greed and evil. This very contrast created that money machine.

Holy cow Ross Douthat is an asshat. “For about a decade, under woke and racial-reckoning conditions, certain important American institutions appeared to systematically disfavor younger white men for employment, preferment and advancement.” Data please? Accidentally read a column, need to shower now.

I like it, what a perfect nickname for the OB! Maybe now be referred to as Piggy.
Piggy has signed off on the release of the Epstein files.

There is a loophole in the law that lets the DOJ withhold anything they deem is part of an active investigation.

It’s precisely what Piggy is counting on.

Your supporters are pedophile-enablers. There’s no difference. Resign, slink back to you hole in Florida, and give every thing you’ve stolen back to the American citizens. Then wait to be arrested.

What’s the difference between compromise and capitulation? Compromise trades concessions. Capitulation pays ransom to stop deliberate suffering, and teaches your opponent that coercion works. There are effective responses to coercive bargaining. What we saw was not one of them.

This is a civil war.

Lincoln had McClellan, Hooker and Pope.
He junked them for Grant, Sherman and Sheridan

We have Schumer, Durbin and Cortez Masto in our leadership.

Act Blue, lose my fucking number until we're clean of generals who can't fight or discipline the troops. No cash for this shit.

I don’t care if Schumer voted no. If he’s unable to wrangle the caucus, he’s not an effective leader. I’ll continue to push for the caucus to elect a new one.

I keep seeing regular Americans taking more risks every day to fight tyranny, want, and cynicism than I see from the opposition party, and I imagine many of those regular Americans are asking themselves what the value proposition of such an opposition party is, really

The lesson that Schumer learned from the March debacle:
- do a better job timing the cave to Trump so it happens on Sunday night, not during the day when offices can be lobbied
- do a better job picking senators who are retiring or not up in '26 to vote aye
- make sure you don't have to vote aye

Voters can push her tho, right out the door!

“Mr. Mamdani and Ms. Hochul also disagree over whether to raise income taxes. … Ms. Hochul was greeted with chants of “tax the rich,” to which she responded, “I’m the type of person — the more you push me, the more I’m not going to do what you want.” NYT

This is a really hard day and I want to just add as WIRED's politics editor -- WIRED's politics reporting isn't going anywhere. We are very much here and won't stop.

Please continue to read and support us - canceling your subscription to WIRED is not standing in solidarity with our journalists.
The key thing to watch here: they fired a Wired political reporter. That’s the title doing the most effective, pointed work. Teen Vogue’s stuff was culturally impactful, but less focused on investigating the administration. Within the Condé portfolio, Wired and the New Yorker are the canaries.
New: Conde Nast fired four employees who were among a group that confronted the company's head of human resources on Wednesday over the decision to fold Teen Vogue into Vogue/recent cuts. Employees who were fired included journalists from the New Yorker, Wired, and Bon Appétit.
