Bezos ruined the post, and the times is a now officially a dumpster fire. I’ve treated the times like I’m the frog in a boiling pot of water, everything’s fine. But I can’t ignore this anymore. Time to move on.

What’s left? Piece together a bunch of substacks + Bluesky? Wow, soooo depressing.

Make thine change the rules then. Take every opportunity to resist rather than comply or be silently complicit.

Please please let it be someone else who isn’t going to consultant/poll/triangulate us to death. AOC or someone younger with some sight please. As a 60 yo white male I’m looking for younger, smarter, and a fighter. NOT more of the same.

Ha ha, missed yours before I posted the same thing. Exactly right.

Perfect picture of trump: all hat and no cattle.

I agree as well. I’m afraid we needed to do this before all the debt financing, SPVs, and circular investments. It’s going to be ugly, and with all the debt off the books, it ain’t meta and the bros who are going to pay up. It’s you and me.

Just read spinning silver and liked it. Wow it was different and well done. Had no idea about her involvement with AO3, very cool.
December 28, 2025 at 6:01 PM
Ha ha, nope. I want people representing us that have real convictions about democracy and the rule of law, as well as a commitment to reduce income inequality. If they move left when the wind blows left, they’ll move back right when it’s convenient or do nothing. Gavin newsome comes to mind.

I hear you but I think we are way past that. Intensity dial needs to go up to eleven.
December 28, 2025 at 5:51 PM
Yah, let’s go from hey we’re going to dock your travel to hey, we are going to throw you in jail when we restore our democracy.
December 28, 2025 at 5:49 PM
Yes, but replace them with people who have actual convictions and will fight rather than swing left and right with the tides.
December 28, 2025 at 5:48 PM
Challenge accepted:

1) no on every nominee. Kelly voted for our treasury sec. Ugh.

2) hold town halls in red districts engage & try to help. Schumer refuses to appear before anyone

3) get your CoS to research every way to slow walk and gum things up. Why rush facism?

Look at McConnells record.
December 28, 2025 at 5:47 PM
And we care why? McConnells republicans voted no on everything, not so much damned if they dont.
December 28, 2025 at 6:02 AM
Just vote no. And then do it again. And again. And again.
December 28, 2025 at 6:01 AM
IKR? Took him way too long to actively resist. The older traditional “moderate” dems aren’t up to this fight. Our democracy wasn’t even at stake and McConnell did more to resist Obama/biden than the majority of our dem congress critters now. Don’t give the orange monster a single yes vote.

Hmmm, I bet discovery could be fun if you’ve got some creative lawyers.
December 28, 2025 at 3:26 AM
So… house full of love? Mmm, not so much I’m thinking. Married to Stephen miller, enemy of empathy. Those poor kids.
December 28, 2025 at 3:13 AM
Yep, true enough. But still better than spending $$$ on consultants & tv ads. Hopefully it gives candidates an on the ground understanding of some constituent needs. Plus you’ve helped organize a bunch of people to continue the work if u win, and direct to others orgs to continue helping if u lose.

Why do we need individual owners again? Or roger goodell and his lifetime private jet? Give all the money to the players. A new stadium just means 10x ticket prices and more giveaways.
December 27, 2025 at 5:10 AM
Buh bye! They can move in with all the New Yorkers who left after mamdani was elected. Oh, wait…

Will brings up she can do this because her campaign "virtually prints money," but her campaign virtually prints money because she does stuff like this.

There is an enormous appetite to do good things right now in a system that rewards greed and evil. This very contrast created that money machine.

Huh. So tired of campaigns raising huge amounts of money and spending it on consultants and tv ads. Give me community outreach every time. Yes it can be done badly, + more compliance, but helping people in need and community building is better than the status quo. Consultants don’t need more money.

Yah, canceled my Atlantic subscription. The both sides-ism and platforming people who want to fiddle while our republic burns was too much to take. Too many good independent outlets that I’d rather fund.
