In 1876, white terrorists attacked Black members of a militia company at Hamburg, SC. They killed half a dozen Black men, executing several after their surrender.

In 1916, the state erected a monument to the 1 terrorist killed in the assault, lauding his sacrifice for "Anglo-Saxon civilization."

NEH staff do valuable work. The Office of Digital Humanities has spurred innovation and supported research that has changed the lives of students across the nation.
Such a shame to see this destroyed.

New -slim images for duncdrum/existdb! 🚀

Now available for 6.4.0+, these come without stockapps in /exist/autodeploy — perfect for minimal base images or lean #XQuery only setups. All distroless variants have a -slim twin: e.g. duncdrum/existdb:6.4.0-nonroot-j8-slim

A thread on the moment and what it means for feds. The Civil Service Reform Act envisions 3 guardrails to protect civil servants: (1) An Office of Special Counsel to investigate allegations of prohibited personnel practices, (2) the Merit Systems Protection Board to hear cases, and (3) unions. 1/

We're entering a dark period in US #accessibility.

The White House home page has a bunch of links with "aria-hidden" and "tabindex=-1".

This hides the links from assistive tech like screen readers & makes them unreachable with just a keyboard.

Critical #WCAG compliance errors! But who can sue?

@simonbs.dev I'm enjoying Festivitas! Using Version 1.1.2 (9). The "Reset" button doesn't reset all settings. Perhaps it is only meant for resetting colors? A button to restore all defaults would be nice. I was futzing around with all of the settings, thinking the reset button would do this. Thx!
