Someone complemented me on an essay I wrote (my final film school report on Miike) a decade ago by saying “wow it reads so well, especially back when there was no AI”

I like Clair Obscur a lot and this is so accurate.
clair obscur is basically like if guys that only play god of war played resonance of fate and instantly declared it the greatest game ever made

literally the last person on earth we need to be consulting for opinions on the intersection between technology and the human spirit
Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney has defended AI following Eurogamer's 2/5 Arc Raiders review, which criticised the game's use use of AI voice generation. "AI dialog generation + human personality and tuning could totally transform gaming," Sweeney said.

i'm so sad that the metroid quip and hint guy was in the previews because they're definitely gonna tone him down before release now. they should have saved that for you all to discover on day one

When companies say that a "placeholder" AI asset got through to production, they're lying to you, btw.

Actual placeholder assets are marked as placeholders VERY OBVIOUSLY (such as with GIANT MAGENTA SQUARES) so they don't get missed.

steam is apparently allowing "this game had AI in it that it didn't disclose" as a valid return statement, so if you or anyone you know actually paid $70 for slop, get that money back

The anti-Clair Obscur people are now more annoying than the weirdo ones that claim it’s the 2nd coming of Jesus.

No one mentions how Xenoblade Chronicles X’ side missions house some genuinely funny and dark stories. They almost feel like Yakuza side missions.

Every franchise across every medium getting its own version of the Marvel Studios logo is easily one of the laziest, most braindead corporate branding exercises ever accomplished. Even fkn CoD has one now.

tetsuya mizuguchi truly, earnestly believes, with his whole heart and whole mind, that generic vocal trance from 2003 has the power to awaken humanity's shared consciousness and guide us to universal peace. The strength of his conviction is so powerful that it might actually cause this to be true

Worse idea: James Bond is being made by people who are really, really weird about trying to make The Zelda Timeline work
Extremely funny that the people who make James Bond seem to believe it is a series with rigid internal continuity, as though MI-7 is just stuffed full of Gallifreyans who regenerate into new actors every so often and have done so for 75 years.
