Kind of amazes me how strongly so much of Europe uses their rights of protest so effectively, and in the UK it’s largely been beaten out of us. We could do way worse than look to the French or Spanish for inspiration

I’ve never watched Top Gun
So here goes …

… I’ve not watched a second of The Wire.
Inspired by a post I just saw in which someone admitted they hadn’t seen a single episode of Friends nor the film Love Actually… what cultural hole do you have that’s a bit weird for your generation?

I’ll go first: I haven’t seen Dirty Dancing.

We are wilfully being put in danger by our major news broadcasters.
For 56 minutes Sky News and BBC News interrupted everything else and carried a Reform UK feed live, uninterrupted, unchallenged. The stream spluttered, froze, pixelated - dozens of times - still they stuck with it. FOR ONE HOUR.

This is an editorial choice. No other party gets this coverage. ~AA

Generally been on board with iOS updates but #iOS26 genuinely looks terrible. Makes my phone look and feel dated.

This really caught me off guard this morning. What a tragic loss. #LFC
Diogo Jota was a superb striker and a serial winner for Liverpool, Wolves and Portugal.

But he was far more than that.

He was a husband, a father and a cherished friend to the colleagues he leaves behind.

This is his story.
Diogo Jota: Liverpool’s supreme goalscorer who was far more than just a footballer
The Portuguese, who has died aged 28, was a force of nature on the pitch and cherished by his team-mates off it

Life, death, taxes, and @okwonga.bsky.social trolling the Canadian climate 😂
Ironically, it’s not actually that cold.
What's your hottest take about Canada?

IF WE WANTED REFORM POLICIES WE WOULD HAVE VOTED REFORM YOU FUCKING IMBECILES.
A group of Labour MPs, peers and supporters write:

“We should legislate to root out DEI in hiring practices, sentencing decisions and wherever else we find it in our public bodies.”

Devastated to see how quickly this has arrived in the UK mainstream.

Labour has a whopping great majority and four years left to turn this country around.

They should be setting the agenda, not chasing about trying to placate voters of a party with five MPs who will never vote for them anyway.

It's not only disappointing... it's embarrassing

Have really tried to steer clear of politics on here, since moving from the other place. But if we’d wanted all the migration rhetoric and tightening, we’d have voted for the other lot. We didn’t. Do better.

This is utterly disgusting behaviour. And absolutely what I would expect from our modern tech overlords. How have we come to this?

To stop the Farage you must first become the Farage 🙄
Prime Minister Keir Starmer is preparing tougher measures on immigration to stem a record flow of arrivals across the English Channel and stave off the threat posed by Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party after it made sweeping gains in this week’s local elections.
